Deviation Sensitivity Calibration Screen |
|
The deviation sensitivity must change with nominal thickness settings because the ratio between fixed x-ray absorbers (generator windows, detector windows, air gap, etc.) and product x-ray absorption changes continually with thickness. Similar to the generator reference curve calibration, this automated procedure initiated via the touchscreen calibrates the deviation signal. The deviation sensitivity routine is generally run when photomultiplier tubes are changed; however, the program, which takes about 20 minutes, can be run any time "peaking" of the system is desired.
