Data Acquisition

As a standard feature, the gauge has a basic time-base data acquisition system built in to it.  Data acquisition starts when the safety shutter is opened to begin reading strip and is terminated by the automatic closing of the shutter at the end of the strip.  At this time, the data file may be named and stored on the hard drive as a text file.  While the strip is in progress, a strip chart recording of it may be viewed on the run screen.  The data is, of course, available to the customer via TCP/IP protocol.

The system described above can be expanded to utilize optional encoders or other strip length transducers to accurately correlate thickness vs. position data for use in one of the many data manipulation programs available today.

The final complexion of this type of system can only be resolved by a detailed study of customer requirements;  however, with a clearly defined interface between us, whatever issues arise can be readily resolved, and the options priced accordingly.
